SPOTLIGHT
Eva Reid has over 25 years of experience in tech, including GIS, information technology, training, and project management. Eva is currently a Senior IT Data Manager and Agency Data Officer for DC Health, the Department of Health in Washington, DC. Reid's team is responsible for handling the large volume of labs received daily on reportable diseases. They ensure the data is accurately submitted, maintained, analyzed, and shared with epidemiologists and other professionals for public outreach purposes.
There are numerous pathways into the tech industry. Eva began her journey with a BA in Geography and as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technician for a state planning agency.
Before joining DC Health, Eva Reid was a Senior GIS Analyst and Trainer at the Office of the Chief Technology Officer in Washington, DC. In this role, she led the implementation of the data policy for the District of Columbia's Enterprise Data Inventory.
Eva also runs her own consulting business. Eva Reid Consulting is focused on helping women in technology to up level their careers. She offers a variety of programs and personal development opportunities that provide professional gains. She also co founded the DC Area Women in GIS Group. She is also the Outreach Committee Chair for Women in GIS.
